March 5, 2004—Workers involved in telecommunications will reap the benefits of a new alliance between the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the National Telecommunications Safety Panel. The alliance will focus on providing workers in the telecommunications industry with information, guidance, and access to training resources, and on sharing best practices and technical knowledge to address ergonomics concerns.
The National Telecommunications Safety Panel is a consortium of telecommunications safety professionals that promotes employee safety and health and preventing accidents throughout the telecommunications industry. The panel works with federal and state agencies and provides comments and recommendations on safety standards and guidelines that affect the varied businesses within the industry.
