OSHA crane and derrick rulemaking committee to discuss structural adequacy

January 16, 2004—The Crane and Derrick Negotiated Rulemaking Committee will hold its seventh public meeting in Washington, DC, February 4-6, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announced recently. The committee, chartered to help OSHA revise the existing standards for cranes and derricks in construction plans to discuss pile driving equipment, verification criteria for structural adequacy of crane components, overhead and gantry cranes, and floating cranes/cranes on barges.

Comments may be submitted by electronically to OSHA/E-Comments. Minutes of the meetings and materials prepared for the committee will be available for public inspection on the OSHA Docket Web page.
