April 24, 2006—The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has recently formed two new national alliances and renewed two others focusing on workplace safety and health.
OSHA’s alliance with the Brick Industry Association (BIA) focuses on reducing ergonomic-related injuries and preventing exposure to workplace hazards such as silica for employees in the brick industry.
The agency also formed an alliance with the Concrete Sawing and Drilling Association that targets highway work zone hazards, motor vehicle safety, and silica dangers.
The Construction Institute of the American Society of Civil Engineers renewed its alliance with OSHA to continue focusing on safety and health issues in the construction industry.
The International Warehouse Logistics Association renewed its alliance with OSHA to further improve worker safety and health in the areas of forklift operations, materials handling, and hazard communication and chemical safety.
