May 14, 2003—A new alliance between the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses (AAOHN) targets workplace violence, musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), and emergency management in order to improve workplace safety and health in small and large businesses.
OSHA and AAOHN will work together on outreach and communication, including the dissemination of health and safety information and guidance directly to businesses, and the development of electronic assistance tools for OSHA’s Web page.
OSHA will also offer the opportunity for representatives of the Occupational Safety and Health State Plan Association and the Association of State Consultation Projects to participate in the Alliance. This is OSHA’s 25th alliance to promote safety and health in the workplace, and the 14th alliance with a particular focus on reducing exposure to ergonomic hazards.
