OSHA offers guidelines to reduce workplace motor vehicle crashes

March 3, 2006—Employers and employees who use motor vehicles for work purposes stand to benefit from new guidelines developed by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS).

The 32-page Guidelines for Employers to Reduce Motor Vehicle Crashes offers useful information to help employers design an effective driver safety program in their workplace.

The document shows companies how safe-driving practices and safety-conscious behavior can help avoid tragedy, as well as prevent crash-related costs to both employers and employees.

The guide is available as a PDF file from OSHA, or it can be ordered from OSHA’s publications page.
