October 6, 2008—The US Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recently formed two new safety and health alliances to help protect workers from injury.
OSHA is partnering with the American Fire Sprinkler Association (AFSA) to address reducing and preventing exposure to material handling and fall hazards, as well as issues related to motor vehicle safety, in the fire sprinkler installation and construction industries.
OSHA also formed an alliance with the American Supply Association (ASA) to offer guidance, information and training resources to protect employees working in the supply industry from hazards related to material handling and forklift operations, as well as hazard communication issues.
