OSHA publications cover silicosis, nursing home workers, workplace violence

September 30, 2009—The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) published several additions to its workplace safety and health Training and Reference Materials Library in recent weeks, and released a Directive concerning the OSHA Medical Examination Program. Library topics include: worker exposure to crystalline silica, known to cause the lung disease silicosis; protecting nursing home workers; tuberculosis; scaffolding; respiratory protection; and workplace violence.
