PDG Environmental to offer chemical-free system to fight mold, bacteria, viral hazards in buildings

December 17, 2004—PDG Environmental, Inc., an environmental and specialty contractor, has entered into a licensing agreement with E-Therm, Inc., a private Santa Barbara, CA, licensing company, to offer PDGE’s clients the ThermaPureHeat technology for controlling biological growth in buildings.

The patented ThermaPureHeat, process utilizes clean, dry, odorless heat to create an environment that will rapidly dry a wet structure and is lethal to many mold and bacteria species.

The process is implemented for the disinfection of structures, enclosable areas, and objects. Used in treating entire structures for more common contamination such as mold, the same scientifically proven principles are also effective on bacterial and viral hazards such as E. Coli, Salmonella, Legionella, and Hantavirus.

The ThermaPureHeat system directs clean, dry heat into a containment or structure to slowly raise ambient air to a “sauna-like temperature” that, while safe for humans, is lethal to the targeted organism. To ensure that the temperature is maintained at the correct level for the specified time period, state-of-the-art digital probes monitor inside ambient and surface temperatures. Temperatures in the range of 140-150(degree)F for about one hour prove fatal to many of the organisms that infest buildings.
