July 24, 2006—P&E AUTOMATION inc., an energy efficiency technology provider, announces that it has been selected a prime contractor by ATK Launch Systems, a division of Alliant Techsystems, to perform a plant-wide energy assessment at ATK’s Promontory, Utah, manufacturing facility. According to the company, the ATK project is supported by a competitive grant award from the Department of Energy’s Industrial Technologies program.
Under this contract, P&E AUTOMATION will deploy its FacilitySurveyer hosted software to collect data on the energy-consuming systems and processes at the plant, analyze the energy savings potential, and determine energy conservation measures with a 4-year or less payback to achieve those savings. These measures are projected to save more than $3 million, 96,000 MWh electricity, and 186,000 million Btu in combined fossil fuels annually.
