The Methodist Hospital-Clarian Health Partners and Karmanos Cancer Institute are the latest partners in The Pebble Project. The project is intended to create a ripple effect in the healthcare community by providing researched and documented examples of projects that provide life-enhancing environments for patients, family, and staff. The project was launched earlier this year by The Center for Health Design.
Clarian Health Partners has a Cardiovascular Comprehensive Critical Care Unit at Methodist Campus in Indianapolis, Indiana. The design firm for the project is BSA Design. Karmanos Cancer Institute is planning a joint project with Detroit Medical Center for a cancer hospital. The Pebble Project will focus on either the outpatient or the inpatient areas of the new facility.
San Diego Children’s new Convalescent Hospital, opening in 2002, is the prototype Pebble Project. Project architect is Anshen+Allen. For further information contact The Center for Health Design.
