Peregrine Systems launches catalog applications and supplier enablement solution in North America

February 27, 2002—Peregrine Systems, Inc., has unveiled its catalog applications and supplier enablement solution in North America following success of the program throughout Europe, according to the global software company. Peregrine catalog applications are available on a standalone basis or as part of an integrated, end-to-end procurement solution that combines supplier enablement and advanced asset management functionality.

Peregrine points to these customer benefits: catalog solutions help customers build powerful catalogs, oversee content management, access advanced search engine capabilities and gain 100 percent supplier participation. In addition, Peregrine’s catalog solutions, which are available as a managed service or on a licensed basis, help companies eliminate maverick purchasing, control spending, and make smarter buying decisions based on a database that is regularly updated and revised. When used in conjunction with Get-Resources, Peregrine’s collaborative lifecycle e-Procurement solution, organizations are able to better evaluate the total lifecycle costs of a purchase, not just initial price, and to manage installation, maintenance and eventual retirement.

As part of this launch, Peregrine also announced a relationship with Cardonet, Inc., a catalog data management solutions provider based in Santa Clara, California, to resell its data rationalization tools. These tools, which are bundled with Peregrine’s catalog solution, help organizations cleanse catalog content to aid in the search-and-find process.
