February 20, 2002—To aid insurance companies and managed healthcare providers meet the US government’s mandate for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Peregrine Systems has developed TrustedLink for Health Care.
Peregrine’s solution, explains the global software company, not only provides HIPAA compliance, but also adds a layer of integration with existing systems, applications and business processes for operational efficiencies across an entire organization. Depending on customer requirements, Peregrine explains that it offers everything from a low-cost, HIPAA-compliant EDI product to a comprehensive suite of business integration tools that create end-to-end integration, including business process integration, work flow and any-to-any data transformation and connectivity inside and outside the firewall.
As part of this launch, Peregrine also announced a technology alliance with Foresight Corporation, a provider of productivity, data transformation, and data validation solutions. Peregrine will bundle Foresight’s HIPAA Validator for deep content testing and data validation. Additionally, TrustedLink for Health Care will be certified by Claredi Corporation, a third-party certifier of HIPAA EDI compliance.
