March 1, 2002—Herman Miller has participated in an international cultural event in Salt Lake City that showcases state-of-the-art practice in city building. “The Physical Fitness of Cities: Vision and Ethics in City Building” highlights leading architecture, urban design and transportation projects from cities worldwide.
Herman Miller’s Zeeland, Mich., “Greenhouse” office and manufacturing building, designed by environmentalist and architect Bill McDonough, is included in the exhibition. The Exhibition is housed in the historic Salt Lake City and County Building and will be available for public viewing through the end of the Paralympic Winter Games on March 30, 2002. Plans call for a corresponding catalogue to be published, including a complete record of the exhibition and essays on selected symposium topics.
