The traditional design of the Plainwell bench by Landscape Forms is now an all-aluminum style as an attractive and durable addition for urban spaces. Shaped, extruded aluminum straps are secured to cast-aluminum end-frames; powder-coating provides the ability to add color to a project.
A 96-in. length has also been added as standard for the Plainwell bench, and it can be specified with one center arm or two intermediate arms placed at equal intervals—to provide more individualized seating. It is offered with either wood or aluminum seats.
The Plainwell bench was originally introduced in December of 1998. Crafted to be reminiscent of a bygone era and accented with contemporary flair, the new Plainwell is designed to be a unifying presence among classic and current architecture for Main Street revitalization projects. At introduction, Plainwell featured a 72-in. bench with wood seat and a litter receptacle design offered in wood or aluminum. These options remain standard in the line.
Plainwell bench with wood seat may be specified in Ipe or Jarrah for exterior use; Maple or Red Oak for interior use. The aluminum seating is extruded to mimic the shape of the wood straps. The side frames, made from cast aluminum for design detail and rustproof strength, are marked by sweeping curves that impart a lively flavor. Frames are finished with Landscape Forms’ proprietary Pangard II powder coating, available in a selection of standard colors and a wide variety of optional colors.
The frame of the 35-gallon Plainwell receptacle is cast aluminum and picks up the detailing of the bench end frames. Side panel choices are aluminum or the same wood selections as the bench.
