November 3, 2004—SFW, a provider of critical facilities management tools and services, announced that it successfully implemented SFW Accendo at PMX Industries (PMX), a producer of copper and copper alloy strip in the United States. SFW’s web-based facilities management platform specifically resolves PMX’s FM security and compliance needs.
SFW Accendo is a web-based mapping platform that incorporates dynamic technology to create a targeted FM solution. SFW FM, the company’s facility management module, transferred PMX’s existing FM information that resided in static files and maps to an easy-to-update electronic system that stores all critical information in one central location with direct global access.
This capability allows authorized personnel immediate, on-site access to information and solutions, a critical feature in emergency situations.
The manufacturing of non-ferrous metals requires specific safety and contamination compliance regulated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). PMX uses SFW Accendo in conjunction with SFW Controller, the company’s security module, to provide and manage enhanced security and safety procedures that offer tools to respond immediately to employee and environmental safety concerns. With SFW, PMX has a new way to address emergencies quickly and effectively, reducing possible damages and costs.
SFW customized these two modules specifically for PMX. As a result, PMX can now store, retrieve and manipulate critical asset information directly onto its maps and floor plans securely over the web. With SFW Accendo in place, PMX personnel with appropriate access rights can easily view and instantaneously manipulate the location and information of assets such as hazardous materials, fire extinguishers, gas shut-offs and sprinklers with a simple click of a mouse from almost anywhere worldwide.
