PowerCold subsidiary receives advanced HVAC system contracts from large drug store chain for remote energy monitoring services

October 14, 2002—PowerCold Corporation has received contracts from a major drug store chain to install advanced heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in the chain’s new stores. The orders were placed with the Applied Building Technologies (ABT) Division of PowerCold’s wholly owned subsidiary Ultimate Comfort Systems (USC).

Pending successful initial installations by yearend, the drug store chain plans to install over 200 new store HVAC systems during 2003 that would generate over $10 million in sales for PowerCold.

These HVAC systems will utilize ABT’s state-of-the-art plenumized curb, Carrier HVAC equipment and a UCS desiccant rooftop unit. The company’s plenumized curb and rooftop desiccant units will provide the drug stores with separate humidity and temperature controls, allowing employees to maximize patron comfort. This will also result in a healthier store environment and will reduce overall power requirements and energy costs by up to 15%.

The closed loop Breezemaster also prevents moisture buildup that can lead to legionella and other respiratory diseases associated with standard evaporative condensers.
