Primex Wireless introduces GPS technology to synchronizes PA and bell systems

March 26, 2003—Primex Wireless has introduced the next phase of its GPS Master-Satellite Time System: the Bell Tone Generator. Designed to work with the Primex Wireless GPS Master-Satellite Time System, the Wireless Tone Generator synchronizes bells and bell tones with system clocks. It produces precisely scheduled tones using existing public announcement (PA) or mechanical bell systems and user-friendly scheduler software.

The Tone Generator can handle multiple schedules and up to 100 zones. The system automatically adjusts for Daylight Saving Time and has adjustable volume controls. The Tone Generator includes an antenna mounted on top of the tone generator housing, power supply, and 8 ft. audio patch and 8 ft. 3-spade audio patch cables.

The wireless tone generator interfaces with an existing PA and/or bell system and requires someone knowledgeable with the PA system and local electrical codes to perform the installation. It is necessary for the Primex Wireless GPS receiver and transmitter to be set up and operating for proper installation of the tone generator. The scheduler software is loaded on a Windows-based PC, allowing the user to set up a precise schedule for the components of the system. Once the schedule is developed, it is downloaded from the PC to the transmitter and can easily be changed with the use of a PC in the future.
