Primex wireless system uses GPS technology to synchronize clocks

October 22, 2001—Primex Technologies has introduced the Primex Wireless Master/Satellite Time System, a timekeeping system that utilizes wireless technology to automatically synchronize all clocks in a system to the exact same time every day. Said to be the first of its kind in the world, the Primex Wireless system is easy and economical to install, simple to reconfigure, and reliable. The FCC-compliant Primex Wireless master utilizes Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite technology to capture the time signal from the official US atomic clock maintained by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and sends the signal to the “satellite” system clocks, which then self-adjust to the correct, synchronized, time.

Primex says its wireless system is more reliable and less expensive to maintain than other systems currently on the market. There is never a need to reset either the master or the satellite clocks, even for power interruptions, battery changes, or daylight savings time changes. The clocks have large, easy-to-read dials and shatter-resistant frames. Both the standard 12.5″ and 16″ models are available with a “clock lock” to prevent theft. Double-faced models and protective cages are also available. The company offers a toll-free technical support number.
