A bill called “Truthfulness, Responsibility, and Accountability in Contracting (TRAC) Act,” H.R. 3766, would prohibit federal agencies from making decisions “to privatize, outsource, contract out, or contract for the performance of a function currently performed by such agency or to conduct a study to convert the performance of the function to the performance by a contractor.”
Raising strong objections to the bill, American Institute of Architects (AIA), says the effect would severely reduce government contract work for architects and other private sector contractors, even though the government relies on them for completion of federal projects.
AIA has written members of Congress describing the negative impact H.R. 3766 would have on the profession. For more information, contact Dan Wilson at (202) 626-7384 or dwilson@aia.org.
