March 20, 2006—Proskills, the UK Sector Skills Council responsible for the building products sector, has launched a program for the Certification of Training Achievement (CTA) for all operational staff involved with the pre-stressing of precast concrete, including supervisors and managers.
Since accidents occurring during the manufacture of pre-stressed concrete have long been the cause of severe injuries and even amputations to operational staff, the new program has been warmly welcomed by the Health and Safety Executive.
