May 9, 2008—Pure Earth Inc. said it has completed the acquisition of Nycon, Inc., and changed its name to New Nycon Inc. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Nycon is a provider of fiber products and related services to the concrete industry. New Nycon Inc. has simultaneously introduced a new product line called Nycon-G, an eco-friendly reinforcing fiber manufactured from waste carpet developed under a patented process.
The company said the new product, available in both nylon and polypropylene blends, is a breakthrough in green building technology because it has no net negative impact on the environment. The company also offers nylon, polypropylene, AR glass, steel, micro, macro, PVA and blended fibers.
“The combination with Pure Earth enables New Nycon. to immediately begin the expansion of our facilities in order to handle the expected significant increases in order flow,” said Bob Cruso, president of New Nycon.
