October 19, 2003—Quiet Solution has introduced “Serenity” soundproof drywall panel, its latest entry in its best-selling Soundproofing Systems. Rated by independent labs at STC 52-72 using standard construction. Built using a new multi-layer laminating process with viscoelastic polymers, it is ideal for home theaters, recording studios, conference rooms, multi-family dwellings and other construction wherever quiet is a requirement.
The latest entry in Quiet Solution Soundproofing System is an ultra-light, thin (5/8″) reduced-cost soundproof drywall panel. The independent-lab-tested results shows that the Serenity panel achieves superb STC ratings with standard single stud construction, and performs exceptionally well at blocking low frequencies (e.g. 22 db Transmission Loss at 65 hertz).
The new high-tech drywall can be used for both existing and new construction, and outperforms standard drywall by 20dB and older technologies such as soundboard/barrier by 10-15dB or more, essentially reducing noise and sounds from adjacent rooms by an additional 90%.
The patented Quiet Solution Soundproofing System is composed of five elements: QuietRock (drywall panels for walls and ceilings); QuietWood (plywood panels for floors, walls, roofs and doors); QuietGlue (a viscoelastic polymer that efficiently absorbs noise by converting kinetic energy into tiny amounts of thermal energy); QuietCoat (a viscoelastic polymer that damps steel studs, HVAC ducts and metal roofs); and QuietSeal (a high-efficiency acoustical sealant). Each can be used individually or together as a system to easily achieve the highest STC’s.
The Soundproofing System is available in three grades: the “Relief” series, with STCs in the 40s; the “Serenity” series, with STCs in the 50s; and the “Solitude” series, with STCs in the 60s and higher.
