December 24, 2007—Quiet Solution has announced that it has reached an agreement with Supress Products LLC in a lawsuit filed against Supress for patent infringement. The patent at issue was US Patent Number 7,181,891, titled “Acoustical sound proofing material and methods for manufacturing same.” The patent was filed in 2003 and awarded by the US patent Office in February, 2007 and covers a variety of soundproofing panels, including those made of gypsum that do not include metal.

The agreement permits Supress to sell certain products covered by patent #7,181,891. Details of the agreement are confidential.

Quiet Solution, a division of Serious Materials, pioneered the acoustic drywall category in 2002, says the company. For more information, see the Web site.
