Rainbows iKey tokens store digital identities on a keychain

January 9, 2002—SC Magazine, a U.S. computer security magazine, selected the iKey 2000 and iKey 1000 authentication tokens for two “Pick of 2001” Awards. The iKey 2000 was one of eight products feted for “access control,” while the iKey 1000 was tabbed in the “smartcards/tokens” category. The iKey 2000 allows users to store their digital identities on a device that fits on their key chain.

In the category of “access control,” the editors acknowledge that a critical part of securing enterprise-wide systems depends on who can access the system. The iKey 2000 was included as a means of “barring entry to those who are not entitled to get in.” In writing about the iKey 2000, SC Magazine said, “For the end user, this is a simple and well-designed lightweight token. For developers, its ease of integration is excellent.”
