Regus to assist businesses procure backup office space in emergencies

February 20, 2002—Following the events of September 11, Regus, a provider of business centers and exectuve suites, has launched a business continuity program across 50 countries, to assist businesses in reducing the impact of natural disaster and terrorist attacks.

The service provides back up office space and professional resources that companies, impacted by disaster, can access immediately if their space is suddenly unusable.

“Many Regus clients have been tasked by their CEOs to update their existing disaster recovery programs to include an office space contingency office plan,” commented Mark Dixon, chief executive of Regus. “In order to meet these demands, we have created three cost-effective and flexible packages to accommodate business’ needs should their staff be displaced.”

Through the serviced office providers business continuity package companies will be able to pre-determine the location and exact configuration of their back up office space from Regus global network. The space will be available upon client demand and includes phone and fax lines, LAN and high-speed Internet connections, as well as a direct communications link to a company’s existing business continuity site.

Companies can also secure non-dedicated workstations, within a companys preferred Regus centre or region, which are available on a just-in-time basis. Businesses will be given priority access to workstations and Regus will establish a dedicated direct dial telephone number for each employee. For more information, contact Regus.
