January 30, 2006—A report commissioned by three international security organizations has found that the increase in corporate threats, as well as the growing costs to mitigate impacts, are driving a convergence of security functions in a growing number of global companies.
The results of research carried out by consultants Booz Allen Hamilton reveal that this convergence affects a business as a whole. But the current state of security generally reflects a disconnected focus on individual functions and business elements.
The study, Security Convergence: The State of the Enterprise, was commissioned by ASIS International, Information Systems Audit and Control Association, and Information Systems Security Association (ISSA).
