October 20, 2003—The Cable Center, now available for events by appointment, is a new educational, training, and research institution for the cable and telecommunications industry. The 74,000 sq. ft., $15.5 million building and its many components are designed to illustrate the industry’s global impact.
The building’s design accommodates The Cable Center’s mission, which is dually based on the cable and telecommunications industry’s history and future. “RNL Design successfully captured the essence of the cable and telecommunications industry in this powerful architectural statement,” said Bob Russo, President and CEO of The Cable Center.
RNL Design’s services for The Cable Center included programming, master planning, architecture, mechanical/electrical/plumbing engineering, landscape architecture, and interior design. Located on the University of Denver campus, the building houses interactive exhibits and learning stations, as well as a library, three-story Great Hall, 200-seat theater, Hall of Fame, a lab for demonstrating technological innovations, distance learning studio, board room, and an institute for education and research. The landscape architecture features an amphitheater, gardens, and public art.
