Sage manufacturing facility reduces lighting cost 25% with EnergySaver

June 24, 2002—Sage Products, a manufacturer of healthcare products, has reduced its electrical consumption for lighting in its new manufacturing facility by 25 percent through the use of Electric City’s EnergySaver technology. The initial systems installation on a portion of the facility’s metal halide lighting system has produced savings averaging 25 percent.

According to the company, Sage will realize a return on investment in less than two years and is planning to expand the program to the entire 390,000 sq. ft. facility and add a GlobalCommander to automate lighting schedules for additional savings.

Electric City’s Global Commander networks lighting systems from various locations so they can be controlled and programmed from a central location to take advantage of occupancy times and daylight harvesting.

The GlobalCommander also allows facilities managers to respond to curtailment requests from utility suppliers during peak demand periods. For more information, contact Electric City.
