January 9, 2006—Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung) says that it is the first wireless provider to market ENERGY STAR-qualified power adapters with its wireless phones. Products that earn the ENERGY STAR use less energy, save money, and help protect the environment, according to testing by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
The EPA estimates that Samsung’s power adapters are 35 percent more energy efficient than standard chargers, according to Samsung. Power adapters, or chargers, are devices that convert AC power from a wall outlet into DC power used to run electronic products.
