Sauder’s Trey task chair can become a rocker, stool or table

May 9, 2007—At first glance, Trey appears to be a streamlined, sleek version of the standard task chair. But squeeze the release latch and a transformation occurs. Sauder Manufacturing Co. explains: What had been the chair’s seat and back frame becomes a stand-alone floor rocker that uses two built-in rails for balance, and what had been the chair’s base becomes a stool that doubles as a side table, footrest, or extra seat.

Originally released to the education market in 2006, Trey has been such a big hit in that market that Sauder is now offering it to the general consumer.

When used as a task chair, Trey has a 360-degree swivel function and tilt-lock control. Users can also adjust its height and tilt tension.

The Society of Plastics Industry recently awarded Trey with two top honors at the 2007 Plastic Parts Innovation Conference: the Retail and Consumer Category Award and the People’s Choice Award.
