August 18, 2004—As part of a multi-million dollar renovation project, Schindler Elevator Corporation has been awarded a contract to modernize the six elevators at the Cadillac Tower Building in the Campus Martius section of downtown Detroit. Schindler will install its new technologically advanced Miconic TX elevator control system, new car and lobby signal fixtures, and new door operating equipment. The project is slated for completion in 2006.
Some of the most recent improvements to the 40-story office structure at Cadillac Square and Bates Street include lobby renovations, exterior upgrades, and the elevator improvements. These renovations, along with aggressive rental rates, have helped spur new interest in the building and have led to increased leasing activity.
Cadillac Tower building, originally built in 1926, was purchased in 2003 by DTWR, LLC of New York. Southfield-based Farbman Group is handling management and leasing activity at Cadillac Tower.
