September 3, 2001—Schott Applied Power Corporation (SAPC), a leading photovoltaic distributor and system integrator, has been contracted by the City of Riverside, Calif., to design, supply, and construct a 113-kilowatt solar photovoltaic carport system. The system will generate clean, renewable energy to offset summer electricity demand during peak hours, while providing approximately 152 shaded parking spaces at the operation center for Riverside’s Public Utilities.
Construction has already started on the site, with completion slated for the end of October 2001.
