January 20, 2006—SecuGen has announced the release of FDA02DL, a new low-cost fingerprint recognition sensor that is designed for door locks and eliminates the need for keys.
The FDA02DL was designed for rapid integration into door locks for the consumer and small business markets. The FDA02DL features the same scratch-resistant, rugged, and high-image quality sensor found in all SecuGen fingerprint hardware, plus a new compact size PC board and improved algorithms and technologies that increase accuracy and speed, the company says. It can identify a user without a PIN in less than half a second and stores fingerprint data for up to 100 users.
Also available are developer kits for the FDA02DL, which provide software and hardware tools to help manufacturers quickly integrate the sensor into their own products.
