Seventh GreenSpec Directory has more than 230 new green building products

June 27, 2007—The revised 7th edition of the widely used GreenSpec Directory of environmentally preferable building products will be available by the end of June 2007.

Over 2,100 listings from more than 1,500 companies are included, and 232 are new in this edition, says the publisher, BuildingGreen Inc.

The GreenSpec Directory is used by thousands of building industry professionals to identify and gather unbiased information on products that can improve the environmental performance and energy efficiency of buildings, says the company. While more than 230 product listings were added in this edition, over 100 were removed. Products are dropped for various reasons: because the manufacturing processes have changed (such as a reduction of recycled content), for example, or because GreenSpec criteria have been tightened so that the lowest-performing products no longer qualify.

The directory costs $89, plus $8 shipping and handling. GreenSpec-listed products can also be found in the online BuildingGreen Suite, a subscription-based information service available for $199 per year.
