Sharp introduces projectors designed for corporate and educational installations

January 30, 2006—Combining high brightness with outstanding performance and a full feature set, Sharp’s new Conference / Classroom Series XG-MB65X and XG-MB55X projectors are ideal for corporate and educational customers, the company says.

The portable projectors feature Texas Instruments DDR* DLP technology for high image quality (2000:1 contrast ratio), as well as XGA native resolution that is ideal for any educational or meeting room setting. The series has built-in RS-232C connectivity so IT support departments can remotely check projector lamp life or provide operational support.

The new DLP projectors feature high brightness ranging from 3000 ANSI Lumens (XG-MB65X) to 2500 ANSI Lumens (XG-MB55X) for a clear picture in any lighting condition. For superior color accuracy, both models incorporate a Condenser Lens Optical System that creates rich black tones and sharp on-screen images. A new 3x speed 4-segment color wheel with an enhanced white color segment optimizes white level and brightness to ensure that all projected images are uniform.

The XG-MB65X and XG-MB55X have advanced features that make it easy to use in virtually any business or education application. The on-screen guide and “help” function ensures simple setup and operation. An advanced picture mode pre-sets the projector to recall preferred settings for multiple users automatically. A wireless remote with built-in forward/back PC control, when used with Sharp’s optional AN-MR2 Remote IR Receiver, allows the user to advance slides in a presentation from virtually anywhere in the room.

The XG-MB65X will be available in February at a Manufacturer’s Suggested List Price of $3,395. The XG-MB55X will be available in February at a Manufacturer’s Suggested List Price of $2,495
