August 31, 2007—Shaw has announced that its recyclable EcoWorx Performance Broadloom is now available.
Shaw’s new carpet, which was introduced at Greenbuild 2006 by the Shaw Contract Group, incorporates eco-friendly EcoWorx backing technology in the much larger broadloom market.
EcoWorx for carpet tile was introduced in 1999. Its light weight and recyclability helped it earn the 2003 Presidential Green Chemistry Award from the Environmental Protection Agency, says Shaw.
Because broadloom carpet occupies about two-thirds of the commercial market, EcoWorx can help increase the amount of carpet that will eventually be recycled, the company notes.
