October 5, 2007—The Hard Surface Division of Shaw Industries is using a new locking system called Loc N Place. Shaw says it is the only North American manufacturer using this single-action, patented technology. All colors of the inventory styles Natural Splendor II, Rustic Expressions Oak, Rustic Expressions Pine and all beveled-edge products will be converted to the new locking system by mid to late October. Additional styles and colors will follow.
With the new system, lifting of the previous piece of laminate during installation or the use of traditional installation tools such as a hammer and tapping block are unnecessary.
