June 26, 2006—In the Education Solutions category, Sedia Systems received a Silver Award for Runner, a continuous fixed seating system for higher education and corporate environments. Runner was created by the award-winning Italian design team of Robert Lucci and Paolo Orlandini. Sedia Systems is the exclusive resource for the Runner in North America.
Runner features uplift seats and anti-panic work surfaces with rows assembled in a continuous form customized to a room’s specific needs. The seating system can accommodate straight or curved formations on flat, sloped, or tiered floors. The ergonomically designed backrest is an “S” shape, to ensure comfort in all possible layout configurations. It can accommodate a laptop-size work surface in a limited riser space.
Materials used to construct the Runner are wood, for seat and backrest, and almost entirely recyclable aluminum (about 90%). There is a choice of aluminum with an anodized or powder-coated finish. Among options, seat and backrest can be upholstered.
