November 3, 2004—SKE GmbH, a German supplier of building and facilities management services, has selected IFS Applications to provide IT support for one of Germany’s largest public/private partnership (PPP) outsourcing projects in construction and building maintenance. The newly established SKE School Facility Management GmbH will handle the renovation, maintenance, and service of 43 schools in the Offenbach district. The project spans over 15 years and has an estimated value of over $470 million. IFS Applications will provide SKE with a complete maintenance and project management solution, seamlessly integrated with financials and resource management.
Gathering all business processes in one system will reduce the costs of both IT support and operations for SKE, enabling it to run profitable large- scale projects. The implementation of the complete solution will be completed in January 2005, at which time SKE will be able to plan, control, and evaluate all renovation and maintenance activities using one integrated solution. All schools will use web clients to connect to the management system to efficiently make requisitions and follow the status of the projects. This will allow the progress of each individual assignment as well as financial status to be followed in real time.
SKE will use a custom-built industry solution from IFS Applications to accurately map the requirements of the school project. The solution includes components for maintenance, project management, document management, inventory, purchasing, financials, payroll administration, and time and attendance.
