AST is in the business of designing, developing and manufacturing electronic devices for a variety of applications, focusing recently on controllers for solar systems and drivers for DC lighting applications. SOL recognized the importance of the proprietary technology embedded in controllers and drivers and has been cooperating with AST for many years, according to the company.
SOL was founded in 1990 as Solar Outdoor Lighting, a leading manufacturer of commercial grade solar powered lighting products and systems. The company has focused on developing the most efficient and reliable solar powered lighting and power systems for applications including roadway and path lighting, parking lot, security, billboard, transit shelter advertising, and transportation safety lighting.
