July 14, 2008—Specsources, Inc., a leading provider of interior design furniture specification software, has launched SpeCAD, an AutoCAD software plug-in which interfaces directly with Specsources Web-based furniture specification writing software.
SpeCAD gives the interior designer access to a set of tools that integrates the designer’s AutoCAD space plan and Specsources furniture specification sheets. Designers can now virtually link the two work sets, decreasing the likelihood for errors, as well as increasing productivity.
Features include the ability to perform item counts within the AutoCAD space plan by area, location and item number. A comparison tool allows the designer to see what blocks do not have associated specification sheets and which specification sheets do not have associated blocks.
With over a dozen reports and ten new menu items, SpeCAD is the missing link connecting the furniture plan to the furniture specification sheet, according to the company.
Specsources, Inc. provides a complete front to back furniture specification and project collaboration tool for the interior design industry. For more information, see the Web site.
