Spie S.A. has acquired the Dutch services company Electron, which serves the energy, telecommunications, and industrial sectors. With a turnover of 48 million, Electron will become part of Spie Trindel, the facilities management and electrical services unit of Spie. Spie is 41.6% owned by the services and engineering company Amec, which says that Spie plans to expand further into the services market in Europe. Amec fully supports this endeavor, and will use 29 million raised from placing 10.4 million new ordinary shares in the London market recently to invest in further developing its services activities, including investing in Spie’s European acquisitions.
