November 3, 2004—An enhanced version of the PowerLogic online hosting service for power system data is now available from Square D/Schneider Electric’s Power Management Operation. The service now features an entirely redesigned and more intuitive user interface with two distinct offerings: Cost Allocation/Billing Reports and the comprehensive Automated Power System Reporting.
Bill Buettner, Manager of PowerLogic Engineered Solutions, explains, “By hosting power system data for our clients, we can provide detailed reports about the health of their power systems.” Through a secure log-in, he describes that customers have “instant access to power quality and energy management reports, even alarms and waveforms. Plus, we also e-mail daily status reports or monthly billing period reports so the user can view related issues at a glance without even having to log in.”
Square D’s Cost Allocation/Billing Service provides Web-based utility cost allocation throughout an operation to help drive down utility costs by making people aware of their utility consumption. These customized reports can be divided by department, cost center, or any other way necessary, then privately posted on Square D’s Internet site so they can be securely accessed at anytime. The Utility Invoice Reports can include all utilities—water, air, gas, electric, and steam (WAGES), and include taxes as well as different rate charges. Users can also obtain yearly costs with summaries and breakdown of charges for all utilities and facilities.
The monthly Automated Power System Reporting similarly provides enterprise-wide evaluation in a matter of minutes. The power quality reports provide an analysis of the entire enterprise, summarizing whether the system is improving or degrading. Customers can view yearly trends for their enterprise and specific sites, with pertinent data down to specific circuits causing problems.
Because the data is hosted by Square D’s Power Management Operation, a user can access the reports from anywhere in the world as long as they have security clearance and access to the Internet.
