February 18, 2004—A new conditioning power system is now available from Staco Energy Products Co. The new FirstLine Conditioning Power System (CPS) protects against 98% of all power problems, has a low cost of ownership, low maintenance requirements, and built-in diagnostic tools.
This new approach to power protection gives users superior protection from voltage fluctuations, brownout conditions, harmonics, and transient surges. It is designed for use in broadcast transmitters, to protect equipment from damage by poor power quality. It saves money by extending the life of the equipment and keeps operations up and running through unstable power situations. It is unique because it can provide a high level of protection for equipment where traditional UPS cannot be used because of environmental or cost considerations.
Through its robust double conversion technology, the FirstLine completely isolates the connected load from the primary AC supply, protecting it from voltage sags, high voltage spikes, transients, and frequency variations. It delivers a true sine wave output, which is what all electrical equipment is designed to use. It is built tough, with features sophisticated enough to support the most delicate electronic equipment.
The initial cost of a FirstLine CPS can be as little as half that of a typical large UPS system, and provides equal or better protection against everything except complete blackouts. The cost savings continue throughout the life of the unit, with lower annual maintenance costs and no battery replacement costs. Yet the FirstLine offers tight voltage regulation and conditioning, extremely low maintenance costs, quick response times and easier maintenance.
The system can be configured for any 208, 400 or 480 VAC application. It can handle a generous input voltage range of 20%, while holding output an extremely tight regulation of 0.5% for 100% balanced loads and 3% for 100% unbalanced loads. It has a total harmonic distortion (THD) of less than 3% for 100% linear loads, and less than 5% for 100% non-linear loads. It also regulates frequency to a stringent .05%.
The FirstLines front-mounted display panel gives the ability for complete monitoring and control of connected systems. It is also available with optional remote diagnostics and a remote alarm unit, so users will know immediately when power problems occur.
