Furniture giant Steelcase Inc. has produced a user guide that provides adjustment control instructions for blind and visually impaired users of its Leap chair. Developed in cooperation with a team of volunteers from the Michigan Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired, the guide contains both Braille and large-size type. It identifies where each control is located and explains how to make adjustments. The guide was developed by the same team that devised the logic for the tactile Braille designators molded into the adjustment controls of all Leap chairs since May 2000. For Braille readers, the designators are abbreviations for the name of the adjustment and are defined in the Braille text.
