Stergis to unveil hurricane-ready impact-resistant windows

November 7, 2007—Stergis Windows and Doors, a renowned manufacturer of custom and commercial building products and a leading innovator of protective window technology, will launch two new high-performance window lines at the Build Boston Tradeshow (Booth #852), which takes place November 13-15 at the Seaport World Trade Center.

Stergis will unveil its new line of PVC replacement and new construction windows made with PVB .090 Laminated Impact glass. The protective design exceeds performance standards for large missile impact outlined in the International Building Code, which tests windows for air, water, and wind-load resistance through cyclic hurricane-force wind simulation, says the company.

Impact-resistant windows contain a plastic interlayer laminated between two panes of glass. Stergis Impact Windows feature Stainless Coastal Hardware, and are available in a wide variety of sizes, configurations (e.g. fixed, sliding, or casement) and colors.

Stergis will also showcase its Historic Window design capabilities, used widely throughout New England to capture a building’s original aesthetics while providing the latest in structural and thermal efficiency. Converted schools, mills, and period buildings are among its popular uses.
