Study: Customers want facility and real estate management to be integrated

December 8, 2006—There is a growing customer appetite for integrated real estate and facilities services. That was the message from research, sponsored by Johnson Controls, presented at CoreNet Global UK’s 6th annual summit recently.

Almost 90 per cent of delegates who responded to the Johnson Controls survey said that the integration of facilities management and real estate services will deliver benefits to corporate clients, employees and the supply industry, while more than half of end user delegates would be interested in a single package of integrated real estate and facilities management services. More than a third of clients are already demanding integrated services.

But it was noted that the pace of change to achieve wider benefits will be tempered by the industry’s readiness and ability to recognize and react to the opportunity, with almost two-thirds of delegates stating the biggest hurdle to integration was ‘entrenched attitudes and cultures.’

Almost half the delegates who provide services stated that their business would be a provider of integrated FM and real estate services within the next two years.
