SuperiorFurniture launches its first new line of “intuitive” seating products called InspiraTM based on using a gliding mechanism produced in Germany. Designworks/USA, Inc., a BMW Group Company, designed the new group of seating starting with the chair control that offers “spectacular glide movement and match it with a design that reflects the same simplicity and class,” says Matt Chrostowski, the company’s lead designer for Inspira. “We decided to take the sophistication of sport luxury into the office, to give a sleek and light feel to the visual effect.” The entire chair presents a “wave” appearance that is echoed in the continuous arc arm.
Designed originally in Germany and successfully marketed in Europe for over ten years, Inspira’s control mechanism allows the chair to move with the occupant while holding to a consistent line of sight whether focused on a computer monitor or a colleague across a conference table. The glide mechanism also keeps feet flat on the floor as the user leans, reclines or sits erect. Inspira has a high back with an adjustable head rest, with forward flexibility and a full back model with a taller back than the typical mid-back. Both come in leather or any upholstery option. The continuous arc arm is in either chrome or black. Base is standard black powder coat or polished aluminum.
