Supreme Court ruling may have positive effect on workplace ergonomics, says Ergonomics Today

February 8, 2002—Ergonomics Today recently published a report concerning the positive affect that the US Supreme Court’s January 8, 2002, ruling in favor of Toyota could have on workplace ergonomics. The Supreme Court ruled that former Toyota employee Ella Williams did not qualify as “disabled” under the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), although she suffered from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) as a result of her work in a Toyota plant.
