Survey says UK employers weak on Internet security risks

May 15, 2002—A new survey of 151 employees from over 30 major UK companies indicates that employers are still failing to educate their work force on the risks associated with Internet and e-mail use at work. Only half of the respondents were aware that their company had a communications policy, or did not think that their employer was exposed to risks by allowing access to staff.

A report in Out-law.com outlines the main points of the survey, conducted by Hertfordshire-based computer forensic consultants DataSec, and gives some advice on implementing effective communications policies.
